The Education Ministry is planning to introduce a set of new instructions in using and storing of sports equipment within schools.

Ministry Secretary Anura Dissanayake said that the necessary moves with regard to the new instructions are afoot already.

A year-4 students of Ananda College died on last Tuesday after run over by a hand roller in the playground.

Earlier a student of Panamure Vidyalaya in Ambilipitiya seriously injured when a javelin hit close to his one eye during training.

Meanwhile the funeral of Ananda College student Senitha Wijesinghe who died in the hand roller accident will be held at Thalahena in Malabe this afternoon.

Ananda College was closed at 11am today to enable the other students to pay last respects to their fellow student.

Meanwhile Ananda College sources stated that separate investigations have been initiated on the death of Senitha Wijesinghe by his school, the Education Ministry and the Child Protection Authority.
