A plane has crashed in Athurugiriya. Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority states that the plane is an Antonov and that it is an aircraft belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force. They further stated that Four individuals were aboard the plane at the time of the incident.

SLAF MiG-27 crashes, pilot safe
A MiG-27 fighter aircraft belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has crashed near Dummalasuriya in Kurunegala today afternoon, a SLAF spokesman said. The aircraft which took off from Katunayake had crashed at around 1.35 pm, SLAF media spokesman Group Captain Andrew Wijesuriya said. The pilot had ejected from the aircraft before it hit the ground and is safe, he said.

Bus operators clash: 29 arrested
Several buses which had not taken part in the ongoing strike have reportedly been attacked today (Feb. 13) allegedly by other bus operators. Twenty-nine (29) persons were arrested in connection to the attacks on private buses operating in the Narahenpita area, police spokesman SP Ajith Rohana said.
