University teachers’ salaries to be increased
 The University Teachers’ Union Federation says that the Government Treasury has expressed agreement to increase the salary scales of University teachers. The University Teachers’ Union Federation chairman Sampath Amarasekera told our news team that the Treasury Secretary had officially communicated this agreement during a discussion held between the secretary and his union yesterday. He said further that the Government had paid attention to implement this increase with the 2011 budget proposals.
