Science Workz exhibition inaugurated: ‘Large budget to make SL knowledge hub’
The government has allocated a large sum of money from the budget to develop the country as a center of science and technology, said Technology and Research Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.
She was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Science Workz science exhibition recently. It was organized by the National Science Foundation and Singapore Science Centre. The government has taken action to prevent the brain drain and get the services of intellectuals who have left the country. The ministry will soon hold an international seminar in this regard under the direction of the National Science Foundation. The country has over 2500 years of documented history. The people in this country had utilized very good technology not second to any other country’s technology in the world,” she said adding, schoolchildren are provided a good opportunity to develop their knowledge through exhibitions such as Science Workz. This exhibition will be held from October 21 to 30. Around 105 schools have been provided an opportunity to provide exhibits and view the exhibition.
