Iran: Tehran has held the International Seminar of Eminent Ladies of Divine Religion, hosting participants from different countries, Press TV reported. Women from 22 countries attended the seminar along with a number of Iranian female officials and scholars on February 1.

The event was held to introduce family and social patterns of elected women with special qualities such as patience, honesty, peace, knowledge and faith.

Participants shared their ideas about how in Islam men and women are equal in religious, political, intellectual, and educational affairs. They stressed that women are given the opportunities of running state affairs in many Islamic countries, as they are more active than any other time in history in social, cultural and spiritual affairs. The accomplished women also noted that gender equality is growing without barriers in Islamic countries and women's demands and candidacies in politics are developing in many Islamic states.
