Gurukula Vidyalaya, Kelaniya is in a formidable position with a lead of 125 runs and two wickets intact in their inter-school under 19 cricket tournament match against Maris Stella College, Negombo played at Prisons Grounds, Colombo.
Taking the first lease more fancied Maris Stella College were bundled out for a paltry 77 runs with Lahiru Madushanka and Dushan Danushka claiming 3 for 26 and 3 for 4 respectively. When stumps were drawn on day one Gurukula were 202 for 8 with Roshan Anuruddha 42 and Chamod Sulakshana 48. Sathira Dileepa bagged 5 for 75 for Maris Stella.
