Dilshan Bandaranayake the famous Mini driver who was competing at yesterdays Road Race Meet in Nuwarara Eliya passed off when his car collided with Ajith Hemachandra's car Dilshan was rushed to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital Soon after the accident.



It was also revealed that the injuries on his head could have caused the death.

The doctors also informed that until the post mortem is conducted they are unable to confirm cause of the death of him who was in his late thirties Dilshan Bandaranayaka who was in front in the third lap was chased by Ajit Hemachandra in second position.

Two of them were almost nearing the completion of the third lap when Ajith tried to go past Dilshan crashed from right on to Dilshan's car with both cars going out of the track. Both cars were a complete wreck.

Dilshan has been in the field of motor racing for a long period and was a very popular figure in the racing circle and also among the racing fans from all parts of the country.

Soon after the incident the organizers of the event had to call off balance races for the day that was scheduled.

Meanwhile the hospital authorities also disclosed that Ajit Hemachandra who too suffered severe injuries was rushed to Colombo for intensive treatment.
