The manner in which the government increases the numbers of Ministers in this country is similar to turtles laying eggs, UNP MP P. Harrison stated.

Speaking at press conference held today (October 23) in Colombo, he claimed that the government’s aim is no longer to serve the people but to ensure prosperity for its henchmen.

He said that the government has given priority to gambling and will strengthen the casino industry as well as prostitution in the country. He added that the country’s limited dollar reserves will be sent to other countries while the underworld will become even stronger.

He charged that even though the government wants to ban gambling in Sri Lanka it has opened four casinos today and will open more tomorrow in religious cities like Anuradhapura and Kandy.

Harrison stated that the UNP is completely against the casino industry.
