How to play Sony A55 1080/50i MTS with Quicktime Player on Mac
The new member of Sony Alpha Series - Sony Alpha A55, using the new Exmor APS HD sensor with 16.2 million effective pixels, sensor size 23.5 x 15.6mm, full manual support, the maximum resolution of 4912 x 3264. Based on the new system of fixed reflector, A55 can achieve full HD 1080/50i AVCHD video recording, and Alpha Series SLR camera can capture video in real time during the auto foucs function. Sony A55 has a adjustable angle rotating LCD screen which used TRUBLACK LCD Technology, by the proper conductof exposure adjustment,we can improve the success rate of shooting.
However, if you are a mac user and want to play Sony A55 AVCHD 1080/50i video with Quicktime Player, you'll find that Quicktime Player keeps displaying "error code - 2048" which means this .MTS format is not supported by Quicktime Player.
Follow the steps below, and you may enjoy the A55 AVCHD videos on Mac computer with QuickTime Player.
Step 1. Load Sony A55 videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.
Use card reader to transfer videos to Apple hard drive, if you want to save the original video footage. Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac and click the "Add" button to load the 1080i .mts videos for conversion. You may also directly drag and drop the .mts files from folder to the Mac Panasonic AVCHD converter interface.
Step 2. Choose HD MOV format.
Click the "Format" option, and choose HD Video > H.264 HD Video(*.mov) as output format. The Mac Sony A55 AVCHD converter will transcode 1080i MTS to MOV in 1920x1080. You may also choose H.264 HD Video (*.mp4) as output format for the converter to convert MTS to MP4 for QuickTime Player.
Step 3. Convert Sony A55 1080i MTS to MP4/MOV.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the conversion from MTS to MP4/MOV for QuickTime Player will start immediately. The output format depends on the profile you choose in step 2.
After the conversion is done, QuickTime Player would recognize the HD MOV or HD MP4 videos and play the recorded videos smoothly. Just enjoy the videos for the adventures. |
