A book on veteran filmmaker, award winning script writer and writer, late Dr. Tissa Abeysekara titled “Sri Lankeeya Cinemawe Abeysekera Salakuna” (Bringing Tissa Back Home) was launched at a special screening of the film “Kawuludora” directed by veteran film critic and journalist the late Chandana Silva at the Regal cinema Colombo.
The book which was edited by Prasantha Paranawidana and Jeewantha Dayananda was launched under the patronage of Kalakeerthi Edwin Ariyadasa and T.M. Sangadasa advisor to the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka.
“Sri Lankeya Cinemawe Abeysekera Salakuna” is a publication of the “Cine Arts Society of Sri Lanka”.
A book containing articles written about Dr. Tissa Abeysekera by Dr. Lester James Peries, Rev. Ernest Poruthota, Kalakeerthi Edwin Ariyadasa, Dharmasri Wickremaratne, I.N. Hewawasam, Thusitha Jayasundera, Priyantha Jayaratne, Prasantha Paranawidana and Jeewantha Dayananda was presented to Mrs. Asanka Abeysekera.
The book launch and film screening were held to commemorate two great lovers of the cinema Dr. Abeysekara and Chandana Silva. This first ever screening of the film was also organised by “The Cine Arts Society of Sri Lanka”.
The main roles are played by Sabeetha Perera, Sanath Gunathileke, Radha De Mel, Daya Alwis, Asoka Peiris, Grace Ariyawimal, and G.R. Perera.
Art direction was by Mohan Adams, make up by Ebert Wijesinghe, edited by Stanley De Alwis, story screen play dialougues and direction by T. Chandana Silva and the director of photography and producer of the film Prasantha Paranawidana.
