70% of students passed scholarship exam
The Minister of Education stated that 223,908 which is around 70% of the student who sat for the Grade Five scholarship examination have passed. Sandara Tathsara Balahewa of Mahinda College, Galle has come first in the island with 198 marks in the Grade 5 scholarship examination.

UPDATE: Sandara Balahewa gets highest marks in scholarship exam
Sandara Tathsara Balahewa of Mahinda College, Galle has come first in the island with 198 marks in the Grade 5 scholarship examination. Kavindya Gimhani of Godagama Subharathi Vidyalaya has received the second highest marks in the island with 196. She is the 1st in Colombo District.

2013 O/L exam to commence on Dec 10
The 2013 G.C.E. Ordinary Level examinations will be held from December 10 to 20, said the Commissioner General of Examinations, W.M.N.J. Pushpakumara. He stated that 384,000 school applicants and 196,100 private applicants will sit for the examination this year, which will be held at 4,312 centers. The O/L exam consists of 48 individual subjects.
